Before it was a kitchen knife, tamahagane was the steel of samurai swords.
For over a millennium, Japanese swordsmiths have smelted tamahagane in the traditional tatara furnace — a process so demanding it takes three days and nights of continuous fire. The resulting steel is pure, complex, and unlike anything produced by modern methods.
This chef's knife carries that same material. Reclaimed from master-grade tamahagane stock, it has been re-forged and sharpened to a working blade — not a display piece, but a knife meant to be used.
The 218mm blade handles everything from breaking down whole fish to slicing through roast meats with a single, clean draw. The ebony handle sits naturally in the hand.
Condition: Pre-owned. No significant scratches or marks. Sharpened to new condition.
